QUOTE OF THE MONTH
From Michael Baum, Professor Emeritus of Surgery at University College,
London. Contained in an article entitled "Life Saver" about the
benefits of the cancer chemotherapy drug, Tamoxifen:
"If you delay a death from breast cancer
for long enough, a patient will die of something else. Cancer is an inevitable
process of ageing and, instead of trying to "cure" it, we should
simply try to control it for the natural span of someone's life."
Telegraph Magazine, 17th November 2001
CTM COMMENT: With 'experts' like
Michael Baum, who needs the Grim Reaper? The idea that cancer is "an
inevitable process of ageing" is the imbecilic declaration of someone
who is presumably ignorant of the existence of a number of peoples around
the world who live to great ages without a trace of cancer in their history.
Baum trivialises the environmental causes of cancer, trained as he is by
the very chemical industry responsible for many of our toxic woes, and is
evidently bought and paid for, extolling the virtues of a devastating drug
that has been linked to liver cancer and other degenerative health defects.
