CTM IN 2002 Welcome one and all to 2002, a year in which we wish all our readers health and happiness in body, mind and spirit and fulfilment of your future plans, whatever they may be! 2002 sees the commencement of Campaign for Truth in Medicine's active strategy phase, as we begin in earnest the task of focusing wide attention to harmful medical and scientific practices and pressing for change in these hugely important areas. Since its inception, CTM has been concentrating on establishing links with as many interested organisations across the globe as possible. We have been astounded by the response, not only at a business but also a public level as interest in CTM grows. The past few months have seen CTM connecting with many well-qualified organisations and personnel across the world - organisations and personnel who are experts within their respective fields, be it on the subject of cancer treatments, vaccination, nutritional regimens, fluoridation, food bio-engineering or the other major issues discussed at www.campaignfortruth.com The key to success in any campaign against injustice is primarily a personal realisation that it is our collective responsibility individually to take a small amount of valuable time to voice our concerns. The key to realising all political strategies is for a huge number of people each and individually to take a small amount of action. Often a political group will only present its corporate or business front during its protest, which is almost always ineffective. When governments, business or even the public see massive and united public dissatisfaction over an issue, the point of critical mass tends to be reached quite quickly and reform can move forward. National and international media attention is also focussed on major public dissatisfaction, and this dissatisfaction itself becomes the news. CTM, as a co-ordinating body, cannot achieve this alone. However by directing its membership to link up with others around the world and then consistently take action in large numbers, the end-point can be reached with reasonable ease. Issues such as fluoridation, the Codex initiative to control health supplements and the controversy surrounding vaccination damage, for example, only remain to haunt us when good men and women do nothing about them. CTM's active strategy phase is about each of us taking small amounts of action, and doing it consistently and in a co-ordinated fashion with others. FLUORIDATION A good example of the stunning effect of small amounts of action taken consistently can be seen with Dr Matthias Rath's recent push against Codex. Millions of letters, e-mails and faxes inundated the Codex Commission protesting government involvement in restricting access to natural health supplements. In speaking recently with Jane Jones, a long-serving member of the National Pure Water Association, a UK organisation campaigning against British fluoridation, she reminded us that through a moderately concerted mailing effort, an Isle of Wight Member of Parliament recently lost his seat as a result of refusing to listen to his local constituents over fluoridation. We hear often the phrase "There is power in numbers!" but maybe we've yet to see the fabulous practical manifestation of this phenomenon when the public awaken and begin indignantly to re-order their own society according to reason, logic and the common good. CTM is committed to bringing you updates as and when they occur… Our extensive network of correspondents relies on members of the public, as well as intelligence organisations, to submit material on the issues involved as they affect you in your local area. In fact, why not consider becoming a CTM correspondent?
